Here are some interviews I did with my maternal grandfather Badie 'Jido" Katen, his brothers - Ned and Niazi, his sister Bahiga, his cousin Adeeb Katen and his sons Joe and Franklin 'Butch" Katen. You will also find an interview with Badie's niece Audry Kahn.

On my father's side, I interviewed his father Nick "Jido" Alwon and his cousin Jeannette Hashem.

I have several video inderviews but they are too large to put on this web site. These video interviews include stories from my Mom, Gloria Alwon, her brother Floyd Katen and of course her father Badie. We also have interviews with Badie from 1977, 1986 and 1990.

Audrey and I talked about her father Bahig when were at my sister Carol's home in Colorado on March 12, 1994. Audrey passed away on April 11, 1994.

Badie Katen
This interview with my maternal grandfather, Badie, took place at my Mom and Dad's home on Ridge Blvd. in Brooklyn. on May 25th, 1975. My brother Kenny was there along with Mom's dog Poco.

My great aunt Bahiga and I talked at our family reunion in Ashville, NC in 1979.

I interviewed my great uncle Ned or Nabie by phone on June 17, 1994.

Teddy Karam
My Uncle Theodore "Teddy " Karem grew up with my mother Gloria Alwon. His daughter Marguerite asked me to interview my mother and ask questions about Teddy. As a side note, Teddy has colored film of me when I was maybe 6 months old in 1945.

Joe and Gladys Katen were sitting in their breakfast room looking at old pictures when we made this recording in October, 2007. My brother Dennis created this PowerPoint presentation.

Nick lived with my cousin Jeannettee Hashem in Worchester, MA after his wife and daughter died. We spoke at Jeannette's home on May 15, 1977.
